A rare discovery from Moldova's sun-kissed south: the Novak Copceac 2022 is a single-varietal red made from Copceac, an indigenous grape native to the Gagauz south around Comrat. The warm 2022 vintage yielded particularly ripe, concentrated fruit; with an additional year of bottle age, the wine now shows wonderfully harmonious and complex.
In the glass it gleams an intense ruby red with violet reflections. The expressive bouquet unfolds dense notes of ripe blackberry, dark morello cherry and plum, framed by a fine, ethereal herbal spice and a touch of earthy depth. On the palate, the Copceac 2022 marries powerful berry fruit with fine-grained tannins, softened by time in bottle, and an invigorating freshness. The long, fruity-spicy finish underlines the elegant structure of this characterful wine.
A versatile companion at the table, it excels alongside robust meat dishes such as pink-roasted rack of lamb, braised beef or grilled meats, as well as hearty pasta and aged hard cheeses. We recommend serving it at 16–18 °C. Volume: 0.75 l.
